Having lived all of our lives in and around a BIG city, when my husband retired we decided to move to our favorite vacation spot: a small, Downeast Maine community that’s close to lakes, streams, the ocean, hiking trails, local farms and some of the most beautiful scenery we’ve ever laid eyes on. We have escaped the hectic city pace and congestion (you need to drive about an hour to find a traffic light!).
We’ve settled into our new community, found a wonderful new church, connected with local farmers and the community co-op for real, whole food, and have stepped back a bit from the always on the go, ever electronically connected, crazy life that we had in the city. We’ve never been happier or healthier (a good thing as we age)! We fall into bed at the end of the day satisfyingly tired and sleep deep and well. We are truly blessed to have our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren with us. God is SO good!!
